I frakken love this character's design! I have ever since the Halloween Exchange when I drew her <3

Your comic pages have this beautiful texture to them <33
Seriously I love looking at them! (I still gotta catch up on the whole archive but for now I am enjoying each new update! :D)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you love Emma's design! XD I wish I could remember anything about her design process but the most I can remember is that I wanted something that conveyed a closeness to water and for one of her forms to convey creepiness (which you captured marvelously :) when you drew her) and the other form powerfulness.

Sometimes I feel so addicted/dependent upon textures. I'm not sure I remember how to not use them. And I keep adding more and more... I started using them to compensate for my inability to draw backgrounds and my dislike of large page areas that are one unchanging color. They eventually became a huge part of my comic-ing process. I'm really glad that they are appreciated! :)

I'm so behind on commenting as of late, trying to catch up...Zartala I love how this battle has gone so far. You've really captured the urgency with how you've been framing this since it feels very fast paced. I really hope the lava-rock dome will work, Bjorn probably expended a lot of energy to get it. Oh man...I'm excited to see how this goes!

It seems like most everyone is really busy this time of year. I'm, also, really behind on commenting.

I'm really glad you love the battle and that the sense of urgency is holding up. This is the first time I've ever attempted something of this magnitude and it is really comforting to know that I didn't mess it all up. I think on some level when I started plotting everything out (way too many years ago) I kept in mind where my art skills were in terms of what was going on in the story. There's definitely some areas early on that were beyond my artistic ability at the time but most of the more complicated to draw stuff (including this story arc) happens later in the story. Though, my love of JRPGs growing up probably played just as big a role in plotting, as well.

Zartala! I love the way you use the diffused light to portray the energies at work here.

I agree with Spelledeg. The sense of overwhelming urgency is pervasive throughout this entire battle sequence.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like! XD

I know I keep saying this, but I'm really glad that the sense of urgency is still readable in the scene. I consider writing and everything that goes with it to be my biggest comic making weakness and for me, personally, keeping that sense of urgency present within the scene is more of a writing thing than an art thing... Every time some one says that the urgency is still readable, it definitely makes me feel a little bit better about how far my writing has come. :)

Thanks so much! XD

I don't think I'm very good at action so I really appreciate the compliment. :)
